Ideal weight gain
You are 27 weeks pregnant and your baby is now the size of a cauliflower and weighs just as much too, about 875 grams. Your baby is now closing and opening their eyes and is sucking their thumb or forefinger. Your baby's lungs are premature still but with a little help can sustain themselves outside if your baby is born at this stage.
Your uterus is just under your rib cage now and breathing can get quite uncomfortable. Other dreadful things that may come your way are vericose veins, haemorrhoids and leg cramps. If it is any consolation, these will only last until the birth of your child.
Food & Nutrition
Do not ignore vitamin C this week. Vitamin C is used up in the making of collagen which is the structural component of bones, cartilage, tendons and the skin. Choose to eat guavas, a storehouse of Vitamin C.
Fitness & Exercise
If you haven't already, sign up for antenatal yoga classes. Yoga will help you hold comfortable poses during labor and will make it a less painful experience.
