Why Co-Curricular Activities Are Important for Your Growing Child
“All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy”. All of us have heard this proverb and know exactly what it means. Yet, with the increasing competition in the academic stage, we often forget that our child is indeed just a child and it is important for him/her to do other activities as well. It has become important for children these days to not only have good marks, but also other skills in order to do well in life and for that, co-curricular activities play a major role in helping them and also in improving his/her overall growth level.
We live in times where every activity we do, no matter how small or big it is, can be converted into a successful profession and as long as a person is successful, the society automatically starts accepting all types of professions. Then why not teach your child whatever they want to learn or have an interest towards anything they like so that they can be successful in it?
The most successful people in today’s world are not the ones who studied too hard or just kept working without any interest, but the ones who did what they loved and made it a profession. And all of that started from a simple hobby or an activity that they did and enjoyed in their free time.
Co-curricular activities not only teach new skills to a child or even an adult, but also help the child relax and divert his/her mind from the monotonous life of school and studies. In order to make your child active, it often becomes necessary for the child to have some sort of hobby, and if he/she gets professional help in improving that hobby or skill, they will become successful in it. Every co-curricular activity helps the child grow step by step and makes them efficient, active and even more studious. Plus, who wouldn’t want their child to be an all rounder?
