To be able to spend some quality time with your family over the weekend, you’ve got to make sure that all your chores are taken care of. Else, you’ll be using the weekend to run errands instead of being with your kids. If your children are old enough, you could definitely let them tag along with you while you complete the weekend household tasks, but when your children are toddlers, this would be more of a nuisance than a benefit.
So, try scheduling weekend chores for weekdays. You could go grocery shopping on a day after work, this way you could even beat the weekend rush. Else, you could try turning to the web to help you out. There are a lot of platforms that home deliver anything you want and would even complete chores for you. Assuming your weekends have been cleared out, there are a couple of fun activities to do with your toddlers.
1. Plan a picnic
It might be a little crowded as everyone would be taking this opportunity to get out of the house, but a picnic in a picturesque place would be perfect. If you want to avoid being around people, you could try this in your own backyard. You could pack some snacks and a picnic blanket and let your little one crawl all over the grass. They’re sure to get a little muddy and dirty, so make sure you’ve got that covered.
2. Take them to the beach
This is the best way to let your little one run wild for a while. They could go run around in the sand and build sand castles. You could try venturing with them into the water for their first feel of the elements. Their delighted squeals and seeing them run around in those diapers is sure to make your day. However, be careful never to let your little one out of sight for even a second on the beach.
3. Build a house
If you’ve got some empty cardboard boxes lying around from the recent shifting, don’t throw them away. Use them to make a fort or a house with your little one. Carve out some windows and leave enough space for the entry and exit. To make it more fun, you could attach a doorbell to the front. It would help your child to explore new environments like this one.
4. Use a phone
If you want to prepare them for the tech-savvy world, nothing amuses little kids more than the gadgets. You could pick up the phones that have ringtones when you call them and even voice recording. Play their voice over and over and they’ll never be bored again.
