It’s summertime! Warm, bright, lively morning that motivates to get going as soon as we wake up is going to be the norm for a couple of months from now. An abundance of light, an occasional mild beautiful breeze, surrounded by beautiful greenery just makes every day better. Lurking behind all this is a bunch of skin care issues. Everyday commuting under these harsh sun rays definitely takes a toll on our skin. Here are some tips to take care of that beautiful skin of yours as you prepare to show more skin.
Start your day with exfoliation
Exfoliation removes dead, dulling skin debris to prevent congestion, cleanse the pores and keep them free of clogged oil, thus preventing problems like blackheads, pimples, and acne.It should be done 2-3 times a week to ensure the skin is clean. Use a mild exfoliating agent like cleansers with walnut, apricot extract etc.
Keep your skin hydrated
Stay away from heavy creams, use light moisturizers. Forget anything but your sunscreen. Choose an appropriate sunscreen for your skin type and apply liberally on all exposed skin areas. Don’t forget your neck and backside of your arms! A broad-spectrum sunscreen provides protection from both UV-A and UV-B rays of the sun. Most sunscreens have built-in moisturizers. So, it is not necessary to apply both moisturizer and sunscreen, unless the skin is very dry. Apply 20 minutes before going out.
Fix your skin
Use natural remedies to cleanse your skin once you're back home. Commercial products will deteriorate your skin quality in the long run. Lemon and tomatoes are your best friends. Fresh cut tomatoes rubbed on the face cleanses it, moisturizes and help remove toxins. Lemon kills bacteria and helps in removing tan leaving you with clean, hydrated skin.
Stay hydrated and binge on cool foods
Have a minimum of 4 litres water to keep your skin and body healthy. Water is crucial for metabolism and also to remove toxins from your body. Tender coconut helps cool your body and restores lost electrolytes and salt due to sweating. Start eating healthy to help you stay active. Eat seasonal fruits and vegetables to cool your body.
Shower twice a day to keep skin fresh and help you beat the summer lethargy. Go for a swim to help you beat the heat and have fun!
