In the fast-paced life, your mind and body are continuously processing the food you eat, the fluid you drink, the thoughts, feelings and the emotions you experience. It could be mind-boggling. To relax and rejuvenate yourself from such overwhelming experiences, here are 10 tips to detox your mind and body. It could help you to be happier, healthier and full of energy.

Take a technology break:

Technology is unavoidable in day-to-day life. So, why don’t you make the weekend low-tech days? Turn off all the electronic gadgets - television, computer, cell phone, laptop, tablet, etc. Be in the real world with real people. Go for a walk. Do some exercise. Stretch at home or get a skipping rope. Do what makes you relaxed but keep away all the modern world gadgets. This could detox your mind as well as your body.

Cleanse your mind:

Past could be haunting or pleasant. To detox your mind, try freeing yourself from the past events that could bother you and retain and recall the pleasant feelings you experienced. Harness the positive emotions and move on. This could relieve you from the stress you could go through.

Eat fermented foods: 

The fermented foods such as yoghurt, miso, gochujang, fermented soybeans are the natural probiotics. They promote better digestion and even better health.

Indulge in a treat:

You are what you eat. So, indulge yourself in a treat over the weekend. A cookie, a piece of pastry, any Indian sweets, a handful of chips, a glass of wine, or anything that could please your soul and satisfy your taste buds. But ensure you don’t dip yourself into everything at once. It is just one treat for the weekend.

A social event:

Humans are social beings and the more they socialize, the elated they will be. So, schedule a social event for the weekend - a date night, a walk with a friend, or even a phone conversation with someone you love talking to can rejuvenate your mind and body and help you stay positive throughout the week. Moreover, healthy relationships support you and are more beneficial than any amount of spinach you could consume.

Read, read and read: 

It is said,”Reading a good book is like taking a journey!” and that could be the most relaxing thing ever. Unlike TV, which we watch for relaxation, could often be stressful to your eye, body and mind. On the other hand, reading can be invigorating and relaxing. It gives food for thought and goodness for the mind.

Relaxing time:

Unlike the weekdays when you will be jam-packed with work, take time to do nothing. Take a break from all the works and have a relaxing a hot bathtub. Add a few drops of lavender oil to a hot bath, put on some calming music, light a few candles, create the serene environment and soak yourself in it and relax.

Simplify the eating:

Keep things simple over the weekend. No fancy recipes and not many dishes. Eat real, fresh, wholesome, revitalizing food - Radishes, broccoli, sprouts, mango, kale and salad - perfect food for a healthy life.

Detox your environment: 

Walk in and out of your house and see what all needs a clean-up. Are mounds of dust piling up in your hallway? Does your fridge need a clear out? Is your garden full of weeds? It's time to get cleaning and detox your environment. A clean and organized environment is the way to clear and focused thoughts and healthy lifestyle.

Pamper yourself:

After becoming a parent, it's pretty normal to keep yourself at the end of your priority list but this weekend plan to put yourself on top of the list and treat yourself with love. Take time to treat your hair or go for a spa.
