Good Habits To Teach Your Child
One of the most important things you will introduce to your child to is his/her habits. Habits make up a person’s personality. Your kids look up to you as role models, so remember that what you do is most likely what your child is also bound to do. Children imitate their parents as much as they can, so showcase all your good habits so that your child also follows suit.
Here are 5 good habits that both you should instill in your child.
1. Eating healthy food
This is a habit that must be inculcated in kids from a young age. As kids, if they are taught about the good effects of healthy food and are given healthy food on a regular basis, they are more likely to choose healthy food in the future. This helps them remain fit and in shape more easily than people who consume a lot of junk food.
2. Brushing twice a day
Most adults also don’t do this. Kids find brushing their teeth the most boring part of their day and will try to slack off of doing it as much as possible, so make it a rule at home to brush your teeth twice a day. This will not only keep dental problems at bay, but will also help you maintain your teeth for longer in your life. Make sure your child brushes their teeth at night, especially after having foods like sweets and chocolates.
3. Flossing after meals
This is one of the most important habits to integrate into your child. Food particles that remain in your mouth start to cause decay in your teeth. Flossing helps reduce tartar buildup and also helps your gums remain healthy. If you think flossing after meals is too much, then flossing after you brush your teeth is the next best alternative. It will save you many trips to the dentist.
4. Playing outdoors
Kick your kids out of the house once in awhile to make sure that they get their daily dose of fresh air and exercise. Kids who spend more time indoors tend to be more unhealthy and perform poorer academically. Kids who go out and play also tend to be more energetic. Also playing outside in the sun will give your kid their daily vitamin D requirement.
5. Maintaining good hygiene
This includes washing hands, bathing, washing their clothes and the like. Good hygiene not only makes a person more presentable, but also helps prevent many viruses and bacterias from entering the body. This is one of the most important habits a child must have.
