What is a post delivery water allergy?

Post delivery water allergy is termed as aquagenic urticaria. This is rare and one in a 230 million condition that affects only 35 cases worldwide. While you usually develop an externally-related water allergy in this condition. some are affected internally as well. Many a time, this makes it difficult for you to even drink water.

Signs and symptoms

a. painful burning, and itchy hives when in contact with water of any temperature

- while having a bath, crying, sweating, being in the rain or snow

c. small weals i.e. a red, swollen mark left on flesh by a blow or pressure

If internal:

a. throat swelling or blistering

b. difficulty breathing

c. wheezing

How long does it last?
