Effective Remedies To Overcome Morning Sickness

The urge to run before you puke on your bed, nauseous randomness and extreme unjustified fatigue? Sounds familiar? It’s called being newly pregnant. In extreme cases (~ 1-2% cases), also known as Hyperemesis Gravidarum, a pregnant woman may suffer from dehydration and loss of body fluids. Further, there may be low potassium level in the blood (Hypokalemia), loss in body weight or an alteration in the acidity of the blood (Alkalosis). Morning sickness, however, is time independent, i.e. it can occur in any quarter of the day.

Factors attributing to morning sickness

Hormonal imbalance is a major factor contributing to morning sickness. Emotional turmoil (anxiety, depression, stress, and fatigue), decreased levels of blood sugar and vitamin deficiency can also trigger morning sickness. Factors such as strong odor, lack of physical activities and exercise, constipation, cannot be neglected either. But, the good news is, it is an indication of a healthy and normal pregnancy, an affirmation that the fetus is growing healthy.

Remedies to help overcome morning sickness

The symptoms of morning sickness appear from the 6th week onwards. Unfortunately, there is no definite cure or remedy to prevent morning sickness completely. However, in many women, there has been a considerable improvement from the 12th week onwards. A few home remedies, solutions, and lifestyle habits can help to deal with morning sickness better.
