It helps in bowel movement and prevent constipation.

Regulates blood pressure:

Fig contains a high amount of potassium and low amount of sodium. This combination helps in lowering the blood pressure level and keeps your heart fit and fine.

Keeps Cholesterol level in check:

Fig is a good source of omega-3, omega-6 fatty acids and phytosterol. It also contains pectin. These compounds help in keeping cholesterol levels at bay. They also keep arteries healthy and flexible.

Treats anaemia:

During pregnancy, many women suffer from anaemia due to high demand for the iron. This might lead to lack of oxygen supply to the foetus. Since fig is a good source of iron, it provides required iron to the body and reduced fatigue and anaemia in the mom-to-be.

Bone development:

When you are pregnant, your baby needs a high amount of calcium for the development of strong bones and teeth. It is also required to develop a healthy heart, muscles and nerves. If the calcium demand of your baby is not met, your baby will draw it from your bones which might impact your health. The calcium content in the fig helps the foetus in bone development. It also helps the mother-to-be to get rid of the bone pain which is a common condition during pregnancy.

The potassium in the fig helps in maintaining the right balance of fluid in the body of pregnant women.
