Does Your Personal Style Say You Have Kids?
Do you look like a mommy? Will a stranger assume you’re a mother when he/she looks you? Find out now.
Personal style, as the name suggests, is a personal preference. Not everyone looks the same and not everyone dresses the same. However, there are a few styles that immediately say you're a mommy.
1. Out of sight, out of mind
Do you prefer large or oversized handbags to smaller ones. As a mom, you tend to carry a lot of essentials with you when you travel and oversized bags come in handy.
2. Knot it up
Would you rather put your hair into a quick knot or a messy bun, than do every hairstyle your heart desires, because you can't afford the luxury that is time to fuss about your hair when you have a baby to tend to? The best thing about this hairstyle is that you don't have to worry about your hair getting in your way as you go about your day.
3. Glammed up?
Do you spend as little time as possible on makeup because you just don't care or you know that it’ll be ruined by the end of the day no matter what? No one notices you spent that extra time applying mascara anyway, right? Mothers usually tend to go for minimal makeup that does not need constant touch-ups.
4. Comfort over style
Most moms would choose loose cotton kurtis over skinny jeans any day. A dilemma that many new mom faces is that the pre-pregnancy clothes are too tight and the maternity clothes are too loose. And don’t even get started on accessories. You probably have every little bangle or ring, but they’re all tucked away in a corner in your closet. Even the thought of having to go through your closet to find the perfect accessory sounds exhausting.
5. Heels? What heels?
Why would you prefer running behind your kids in heels when you can do it comfortably in flats or just bare-footed? The last time you suffered after a whole night of wearing heels and the last thing you want is for this to happen again.
Do not worry if you don’t come out of the house looking like what you think might be your best, stylish self. You’re a mom. You have kids and responsibilities, so you’re allowed to have a day-off now and then. Maybe you have a stain or two on your clothes. Who cares?! Feeling empowered in your skin will make anything you wear or do stylish.
