Do’s and Don’ts for Healthy Air Indoors

Do: Keep your house neat and tidy.

Over a period of time, these devices will accumulate a lot of dust, pet dander and other particulates that need to be cleaned out. This is why you ought to clean them from time to time. Don’t: Use hazardous cleaning chemicals.

On your mission to make your home a clean and healthy space, you might resort to using chemical cleaners and detergents which can again lead to indoor air pollution. Avoid using cleaners that leave strong fragrances as they might be harmful. Instead, make use of plant-based cleaners that are non-toxic and safe to use.

Don’t: Use scented candles.

You may think that using scented candles is a great way to make the air smell less foul. But lighting scented candles can be harmful. Using these scented candles adds to indoor air pollution.

Don’t: Allow pets in the bedroom.

It is natural for us to let our pets be at our side all the time but we need to know where to draw the line. Their fur and drool can be harmful to us. Try to make sure that they don’t climb on the sofas and cushions since they are hard to clean. You should especially not allow them near the bedroom (where the pillows and bedsheets are) since they can get dirty easily and this is where you and your baby sleep.
