How does this drink work you ask? It all comes down to metabolism. Yes the M-word, boosting metabolism levels involves hours of exercise. But there are other ways to boost your metabolism as well. Diet. You are what you eat. Thus, eating foods with a high-fat content can, in turn, slow down your metabolism, making you fat. We know it’s hard to suppress the craving for a cheesy pizza or a creamy cheesecake. So, here is a drink you can have right before bedtime and let it work it’s magic while you sleep. The reason you need to consume it right before bed is because your body metabolizes food much more slowly than it would when you are awake as you digestive system slows down. Hence, this drink would aid in the metabolization process of the food. Enough build up, let’s quickly get to the recipe of this drink now.

The ingredients you will need are:

1 cucumber

A bunch of coriander leaves or mint leaves

1 lemon

1 tbsp. grated ginger

1/2 glass water

All you need to do is blend these ingredients together and drink it right before you sleep. I’m sure you’re wondering what’s so special about these ingredients. Well, let’s get into the biology of it.

Lemon

This fruit, rich in vitamin C contains ascorbic acid which facilitates good digestion and is often included in the dietary supplement. It helps break down food faster. Its pepsin content helps maintain the stomach’s pH levels thus preventing any form of gas or bloating.

Cucumber

Cucumbers are hydrating, high in fiber and most importantly low in calorie content. This vegetable is also a diuretic which helps in eliminating the toxins present in your body.

Ginger

The fact that ginger helps in digestion is not one that is unknown. It thus helps boost the functioning of the digestive system thus helping in metabolize food at night. Ginger also has anti-inflammatory properties making it the perfect drink to get rid of that belly fat.

Coriander/ mint

Both coriander and mint leaves have anti-inflammatory which helps relieve you of nausea and aid proper digestion. These also include antioxidants and vital vitamins and minerals. Moreover, it helps give you that refreshing taste
