The word “avocado” is said to be derived from the Nahuatl word “ahuacatl”, which means “testicle” (FUN FACT). In terms of nutrition, avocados take the cake as they are probably the healthiest fruit out there. It is loaded with fiber - one avocado contains 36% of the daily requirement of Vitamin K, 30% of the folate, and 20% each of the daily requirements of Vitamin B5, Vitamin B6, Vitamin C, and more than twice the potassium of a banana. When it is eaten with other foods, your body is better able to absorb the nutrients, such as alpha- and beta-carotene and lutein. Avocados also contain ‘good’ fat, like oleic acid, which has beneficial effects against cancer and reduces inflammation.

Avocados has gained a lot of popularity over the past couple of years because they are said to help reduce weight. Also, incorporating avocados into your meal can leave you feeling satisfied with your meal and also makes you 5 times less likely to overeat than someone who has a similar meal without avocados. In the long term, it makes you consume lesser calories and makes your food healthy.

Avocados make any meal 10 times better and are also really easy to incorporate into your diet, as they have very little sugar and are very creamy. You can add them into both sweet and savory dishes giving the dish a healthy hit.
