Aloe vera juice can be prepared at home. However, due to the lethargy that plagues this generation and human beings in general, the readymade product works much better in the market. If you are tired of purchasing aloe vera juice, there’s a simple remedy that’s available for you. Extracting aloe vera juice is extremely simple. The juice is highly alkaline in nature and counteracts the acidity that resides in one’s stomach. There’s one of the many aloe vera benefits- cancer carrying organisms do not reside in alkaline environments!

Getting back to aloe vera juice. It’s a two-step process- first you extract the aloe vera gel then you make a juice out of the extracted aloe vera gel. Given below is the step-by-step recipe on how to make aloe vera juice at home:

1. Cleanse an aloe vera leaf in running water.

2. Dry the leaf completely.

3. Cut an edge from the leaf and gently peel out the outer covering.

4. Carefully remove the aloe vera gel from the leaf (discard any ‘green coloured’ gel).

5. Store the gel in a jar and dry it off (you can refrigerate it).

6. Add the gel to any juice or to plain water and there’s your aloe vera juice.

Note: Ideally, you should add just 2 teaspoons of aloe vera gel to whatever liquid it is being added to.

3. Aloe Vera Juice Benefits

Aloe vera juice benefits - now that’s a topic that can make for a separate article altogether. Yes, it’s no exaggeration to say that aloe vera medicinal uses coupled with its numerous other benefits make it a champion in the plant world. We already explained how to extract aloe vera gel and thereby, make aloe vera juice above in the article. Now we shall answer the question as to ‘Why do so?’

In this section of the article, information overload is a high possibility. However, we shall try to keep it as short and sweet as is possible. Given below are the various aloe vera juice benefits:

‣ Improves immunity: Our body is primarily acidic. And that’s bad. Aloe vera, on the other hand, is highly alkaline. Drinking aloe vera juice regularly makes the body an alkaline environment thus, inhibiting the growth of harmful bacteria and improving one’s immunity.

‣ Keeps the body hydrated: If you have seen the aloe vera plant, you will know what is meant when it’s called a ‘fleshy’ plant. This ‘fleshy’ texture is due to the high water content that’s present in it and hence, it’s a great way to treat dehydration. The juice doesn’t just keep the body hydrated but it replenishes the body with various different kinds of important nutrients. Because of the juice’s detoxifying and rehydrating qualities, it also improves the functioning of the liver.

‣ Skincare: Everyone knows of the skin care benefits of aloe vera. It’s not a secret anymore. Aloe vera juice, being a by-product of aloe vera, has the same skincare benefits to offer. Regular intake of aloe vera juice can reduce the frequency with which acne arise. Additionally, it also helps fight certain other skin diseases. All of this is possible because of the presence of critical vitamins and antioxidants that are found in aloe vera.

‣ Digestive benefits: Because of the hydrating properties of aloe vera, drinking aloe vera juice is a great home remedy to treat constipation. For sufferers of GERD, aloe vera juice can reduce the heartburn symptoms considerably. Aloe vera contains certain enzymes that help break down food and smoothen the digestive process.
