Dear Husband, I know that you try your best to bring a smile to my face whenever I’m down. It could be my frustrating boss, unsatisfactory job, the insane traffic or just boredom that could lead me into unhappiness. Here are a few pointers, so you know exactly how to help me the next time I’m sad or tired.

1.Cook my favorite dish

We’re all suckers for good food, and if you’ve cooked it specially for me, then my sorrows will melt away instantly and be replaced with “aww”s. Even if the food is err... only just edible, we’ll still feel happy that you tried!

2.Just listen to me.

Sometimes just listening to me helps. I might just want to rant about anything and everything in the world, and having you give me a patient ear will definitely reduce my woes.

3.Read me our favorite book

Yes, I know I’ve read Harry Potter a million times, but you making an effort to cheer me up by reading me something from a book I love will surely help. Just the fact that you’ve thought about reading me my favorite book is touching!

4.Watch our favorite chick flick with us

Sometimes, a little girl drama is all it takes to set my mood right. Some romance, some fights, and light-hearted humor is the best therapy. And hey! A little bit of Mean Girls or Legally Blond never hurt anyone!

5.Let’s go on a drive

Take me out on a long drive to someplace away from the hustle and bustle of the city. The peace will not only ease my mind, but give me a much-needed break from the everyday monotony. After all, travel is therapy!

6.Romance isn’t dead!

Some romantic lights, some soothing music, a good candle light dinner at a cute restaurant, and you’re good to go. A good romance has all the healing power!

7.Don’t forget the girls!

Sometimes, all I really need is a fun night with my girl gang. It’s not that you can’t cheer me up, but some sister love really does wonders to my mood. There are some things I can talk about, only with my girls, and a night with them will help with my good spirits!

8.Pamper me!

Be it making me breakfast in bed, getting me some ice-cream, or showering me with constant compliments, I love a little bit of pampering, really. Sometimes, all I really need is a fun night with my girl gang. It’s not that you can’t cheer me up, but some sister love really does wonders to my mood. There are some things I can talk about, only with my girls, and a night with them will help with my good spirits!

9.Remember those date nights?

I miss the cute dates we used to go on, early in our relationship. Let’s recreate the moments, and not let the fire burn out! It’ll remind me of the good ol’ days, and will not fail to bring a smile on my face.

10.Let’s not underestimate the power of a massage!

Apart from relieving the muscle stress, it might just lead to a wild night, if you know what I mean! Resort to slow music, aromatic oils and long massages, to bid farewell to sadness.
