There are a lot of things that make us feel good about ourselves, but one thing that fills us with the most pride is being able to look younger. Not because younger is better, but because it shows our abilities to maintain ourselves. It shows good grooming and talents.It also makes us feel younger, and feeling younger has the ability to fill a person with energy and vigour.

A lot of women, however, are misguided with regard to achieving this. Remember, it’s not all about keeping up with the latest trends in makeup. What makes a person look good is incredibly subjective to each person, which means that the latest trends might look good on all the hot young supermodels, but not so much on anyone else.

Here are some tips that could work wonders better than cosmetics:

1. Clean bean

The most important thing to remember is that the key to a younger face is a clean face. Don’t skimp out on cleansing your face every day. Remember to use a face wash that suits your skin that is not too harsh. Also, keep in mind that exfoliation is your friend. It gets into those pores and gets the oil and grit out of your face, so use exfoliants.

2. Soft and safe

You can’t just stop and start washing your face. Most face washes tend to extract the moisture from your skin along with the dirt. To really have younger looking skin, it’s important to make sure it isn’t too dry. Use moisturizers that suit your skin type. Pick those moisturizers that aren’t too oily. Additionally, in this day and age, the sun can be harsh on your skin so be sure to use sunscreen. This will not only protect your skin from harmful UV rays, but it’ll also prevent pollution and dust from getting into your pores.

3. Pearly whites

One factor that influences youthfulness that you’d be surprised about, is having clean and white teeth. Taking care of your teeth can go a long way in making you look younger, so remember to use mouthwash and floss, and brush your teeth properly.

4. Foodie

A great part of looking younger is being healthy. This comes with a healthy diet. Make sure you’re taking in the right kind of food every day. This doesn’t mean you have to give up all your favourite junk food; it only means that you’ve got to control how much of it you eat and how often, and make sure your daily diet contains foods which provide you with the nutrients your body needs. This means you’ve gotta stock up on those fruits and veggies and switch over to boiling and grilling instead of frying.

5. Stop and shop

The kind of clothes you wear makes a huge difference to your overall appearance. Looking younger doesn’t mean wearing all the current trends in fashion. What does make a huge difference though, is wearing clothes that compliment your body type and shape. Wearing bright colours also gives off a younger vibe. Avoid wearing clothes that are too dull or that hang off your body, or, conversely, clothes that stick to your body in all the wrong places.

6. Stay fit

Being healthy also involves maintaining a healthy body through exercise. Exercise compliments dietary changes. Again, this doesn’t imply you have to have a crazy burnout exercise routine, it just means that you should try getting some amount of exercise regularly to keep your body fit and get rid of unnecessary fat. Not only does this make you look younger and feel revitalized, it also has a great number of general health benefits.

7. Keep up on Zzz

Sleep. It’s something that is constantly stressed on, but also something that is constantly ignored by a majority of us. With our busy lives, sleep is something we tend to get very less of. What a lot of people forget is that getting the right amount of sleep has many health benefits. In addition, it refreshes your body and mind and helps get over tiredness.

8. Highlight

Yes, makeup isn’t the be all and end all of looking younger, but it definitely has its merits. One of them being highlighting your face. Applying concealer hides skin blemishes, yes, but it also keeps pollution away from your skin thereby protecting it from damage that can make your skin look older than it is. Use blush or highlighter to emphasize your features like your cheekbones and nose. Remember not to go overboard while applying makeup; go for a more natural look.

9. Hair

Keeping your eyebrows well groomed and shaped add to a youthful appearance, as well as managing the rest of your facial hair. Additionally, making sure your hair is being taken care of can help a lot. Having shiny, soft hair, gives a person a more youthful appearance. So remember to shampoo and condition it regularly. Use hair serums to protect your hair and make it shinier.
