7 Things to Expect from Your Husband During Pregnancy

Pregnancy is not all about the mummy; Yes, she carries the baby for 9 months but the other 50% of the baby, the daddy too plays an incomparable role. Now, they must be wondering about the role they have to play during this time. Well, apart from playing the support system, of course, husbands can help their pregnant wives in the following ways:

1.Be Understanding

Your wife is going through a ton of hormonal changes and mood swings. She may not like a certain behaviour of your now or her favourite food isn’t favourite anymore. Support her food cravings; a lot will change when it comes to her body and behaviour. You need to be warm, welcoming, and approachable.

2.Be Patient

Your wife is going through a ton of hormonal changes and mood swings. She may not like a certain behaviour of your now or her favourite food isn’t favourite anymore. Support her food cravings; a lot will change when it comes to her body and behaviour. You need to be warm, welcoming, and approachable.

3.Be There

This is the time her body will change like crazy. She is not going to feel attractive at all and that’s going to make insecure to another level. Ensure you make her feel beautiful and special just like you would normally do. These are those few months you must pamper her like never before.

4.Be Intimate

It is a myth that has been busted time and again. Pregnant women do want sex. In fact, during pregnancy their sex drive increases and they have needs only you can satisfy; so don’t let your sex life take a back seat. Make her feel sexy and desirable.

5.Be Encouraging

It’s important to make your wife feel motivated. This pregnancy phase is overwhelming and they may need some encouraging. Talk to her about how happy she makes you and what a great mom she is going to make. Such conversations help them feel confident.

6.Be Strategic

When a woman is pregnant they have tons of apprehensions. You as a partner are required to be there for them and address those apprehensions. A few things you can help them with are — a trip to the gynecologist for regular check-ups, taking tests, going through the stages with them, buying the clothes, deciding the name, preparing for birth etc.

7.Be Supportive

And lastly, support her the most when she is in labor. She is completely drained at this stage and it’s best you adhere to what she says. She may or may not want you around when she delivers, she may want music or something specific that will help her get through with this, be sure to do it. Husbands are the only constant support a wife would ever want, especially during pregnancy. She is carrying a whole human in her body, it’s your job to be there with her through this.
