It is assumed that adults are always right and kids need to learn from them. One can't think of anything an adult can learn from a child but you'll be surprised to know that kids are immensely talented and superior to adults in many ways. The way children can pick up new accents, learn new skills and technology can simply not be matched by an adult. This superiority is not just aptitude wise, they also possess many psychological characteristics which are admirable. We are all born with these characteristics but as we grow, we tend to leave them behind and conform to the real world.
If you don't have fear, you can achieve anything on this earth. Kids fear nothing - This is a quality we should certainly learn from them. Of Course, you can't simply go and touch a hot plate with bare hands or go to the dog and put your hands into his mouth, but you can always express yourself without the fear of the fact that people will judge you. The many fears that we humans learn over the course of our lives, fears that are simple illusions like the fear of the unknown, fear of being judged, fear of rejection, fear of what the future might bring, etc might be what is holding you back.
Kids are the most curious creatures in this world. No matter if it is related to them or not, they are always concerned about it. They just have to know everything. This trait of being curious and adventurous is often lost among adults as we carry on with our day-to-day life.
You don't know everything
The learning attitude is something that is seriously missing among adults lately. With the accumulation of educational degrees and more passing time we often get the feeling that we have the answer to everything. Kids have this immense energy and urge to know things and learn them. Having a desire to learn new things will strengthen our personal relationships because we spend time listening, and it boosts our performance at work because we always want to learn and improve. We can learn from anything and everything around us.
Straightforwardness- like a boss!
You might have observed this often in kids. When they find themselves stuck in a no holds barred situation, they go straight up with their talks. They don't beat around the bush but instead say what they want to say. Kids don't fear anything and do not worry about what's going to happen in the future -This is how kids deal with situations. While I do agree that this kind of attitude doesn't suit all types of situations, there is something to be learnt from it.
Not being judgemental
Being genuinely happy without a reason: Life is too short to spend time with people who suck the happiness out of you. I really want everyone to learn from them about how they manage to be happy without any reason.
Not judging people on the basis of their caste, colour or religion: A child neither understands colour nor caste. Instead of learning this good quality from them, we started teaching them about this stupidity. Admire their pure heart. Don't make them like you. In spite of several efforts from adults, children never judge people. They accept everyone once they become a good friend. Why don't we adults understand the simple formula that if you want to free yourself from being judged stop judging other people first?
Nothing is impossible
Kids generally have this thinking that whatever that they can imagine is achievable. This makes their approach towards things more practical and the possibility of achieving them also increases. It always seems impossible until it is done. And a kid can show how it's done.
Children have this ability to find humour in everything. Their ability to find happiness in everything is just phenomenal. It doesn't matter whatever or how serious the situation is, a child will always be in his own little world and will always be laughing. Indeed, A day without laughter is a day wasted.
