Personal hygiene and cleanliness is something that all of us are concerned about on a daily basis. And it’s for good reason too. How we carry ourselves and how well we are maintaining ourselves plays an important role in both our image and our self-confidence. Maintaining personal hygiene has one major part which is the underarm odour. This odour is the reason we use deodorants and perfumes. But, these chemical compounds don’t eliminate the smell but merely suppress it so that you keep on using them again and again. These chemicals have been known to do more damage than benefit and so, to help you in this situation, we have made a list of 7 home remedies which you can use to eradicate the underarm odour.
1. Baking soda
Most of you might already know that baking soda is used for removing the smell from clothes and other daily use things. Since it is already being used for a similar function, why not use it on yourself too. Just mix it with some cornstarch, and then apply it on your underarm area. This will help to keep your skin fresh and dry. It is recommended you use it as you use talcum powders and apply it when you are getting ready.
2. Apple Cider Vinegar (ACV)
A compound that has recently become popular and is made completely from the products you will be able to get at home. Not only does it help remove all the unwanted odour from your armpits but it also gives out a soothing and sweet smell. This, in turn, makes it the perfect replacement for deodorants. Just make a mixture of ACV or purchase a readymade one and apply gently with a cotton ball or spray it on your armpits.
Yes, you read it correctly. Lettuce is indeed what we are suggesting to you for removing unwanted body smell. Lettuce has many enzymes present in it that help remove the underarm smell. Just crush some lettuce leaves to extract their juice and rub this juice on the armpits. For best effects, apply the juice immediately after bathing.
4. Tomato Pulp
Another unique and readily available odour eliminator that you can use is tomato pulp. The citrus and other minerals present in tomatoes have been seen to be immensely helpful in eradicating underarm smell. Just extract the pulp by crushing the tomato and apply the pulp directly to the underarms. Leave it like that for 15 mins and then clean it up. You will be able to see the effects in almost no time.
5. Sandalwood powder
Sandalwood powder is known for its soothing aroma and is also helpful in removing the foul underarm smell. Just prepare a paste by adding sufficient amount of water in some sandalwood powder. Mix the paste well and apply it on your armpits. Leave it on till it gets dried and washes it with clean water.
One of the most common thing that is used by almost all households everywhere to eradicate unwanted smells and kill germs. Well, lemon is not only good to remove the smell from your utensils and clothes. It can also be used to remove the smell from the underarms. Due to its acidic properties, lemon kills the germs present on the skin thereby eradicating smell while also giving a pleasant smell. Just cut a lemon in half and apply it directly on your underarms.
7. Tea-tree oil
Tea tree oil is very effective against armpit smell. Its antibacterial properties ward off the harmful bacteria while helping give a subtly pleasant smell all around you. All you need to do is add two drops of tea tree oil in one cup of water. Fill it in a spray bottle after mixing well. Use it as a regular deodorant to prevent odour. You can also apply tea tree oil directly in your armpits.
