Adequate growth among kids is always considered a sign of good health. Parents are often concerned that their child maybe shorter than his friends or other kids of his age. Once your kid is fully grown, there’s nothing much that can be done to make him grow taller but before the window closes, here are some foods you should definitely give a try.
1. Dairy products
Milk, cheese, yogurt - All of them are rich in calcium making your child’s bones stronger and also helping them grow faster. A glass of milk everyday should be part of your kid’s diet, without a doubt. If plain milk is not something s/he prefers then you can give them flavoured milk or even make dishes using milk.
Try and make eggs your kids favourite food. They are power packed with proteins and act as building blocks for a growing child. Eggs are essential for new cells generation and regeneration, making your kids taller and stronger too!
Fresh fruits and vegetables provide nutrition and minerals your child’s growing body requires. They also strengthen your child’s bones, thereby helping them grow taller. Apart from the norm, try fruits like mangoes, peaches and cantaloupes. A fruit juice or a salad is always appreciated.
Chicken is high-protein food that promotes muscle growth and development and also supports healthy body weight. Make delicious dishes like a chicken stew, curry, or pan fry chicken for your kids to enjoy. Plus its super filling so your kid is less likely to snack after having this.
Green leafy vegetables are a rich source of vitamins, iron, fiber and calcium - all of which are essential in increasing the height. They might not necessarily be your child’s favourite but you can get your kid to eat them by adding them to their favourite foods or by making the dish look appealing. A bowl of oat-meal is a super kid-friendly breakfast. It is rich in fiber and carbohydrates that provide your little one with all the energy he needs. If your kid has this on a regular basis, it will help him in growing taller.
Soyabeans and its products like tofus and soya milk are similar to milk when it comes to calcium and protein content. Encourage the consumption of soyabeans by incorporating them into your kid’s diet.
