7 Foods That Help Pregnant Moms With Gas Relief

When you are pregnant, you go through a lot of ups and down, be it in your career, your health or your relationships.

Bloating is one of the most common issues you will face during pregnancy. The feeling of excess gas in your body will make you uncomfortable. This may become frequent in the initial days of pregnancy, but the line on the graph tends to decline towards the day of your delivery.

It is always advisable to take in fibre rich food, as it keeps your bowel movements regular and relieves you from feeling bloated. Here, we have listed some food items that will help you get relief from gas.

1. Whole wheat toast

Stay away from processed white bread, as the sugars present in the bread cause your blood sugar level to rise, making you hungry in a very short span of time, resulting in the formation of gas in the stomach. 2. Leafy green vegetables

3. Lentils

5. Fruits

Fruits such as bananas, apples, pears, avocados and watermelons can be included in your diet. Bananas help you retain water and apples make you eat lesser due to its high fibre content. Watermelons are filled mostly with water and are refreshing as well.

6. Brown rice

Brown rice keeps you full for a longer span of time due to the presence of complex carbohydrates which take time to digest. You can replace it with the white rice you normally use to avoid gas during pregnancy.

7. Dark chocolates

Chocolates also help prevent gas, which is good news for those who love chocolate. One thing you need to ensure is that the bar you eat contains at least 70% cacao. This makes it full of fibre and polyphenols, which can even help flatten your belly. Too much of chocolates can be harmful, so stick to a little piece or square.

Drinking lemon water also helps soothe your digestive system and prevents bloating. Almonds and tomatoes also provide relief from gas during pregnancy.

Make sure that you stay away from carbonated drinks. Chewing gum, alcohol, coffee, dairy products and artificial sweeteners cause bloating.
