7 Benefits of Tea Bags You Are Missing Out On!

Tea is a truly great beverage. It gives us a great kick-start in the morning, helps us cure sore throats when we’re sick, and it tastes great, especially on a rainy day or in cold weather. What’s more, it’s also great for health because it is rich in antioxidants and flavonoids which keep several illnesses under control. But did you know that apart from drinking tea, the tea bags can be pretty useful in your everyday life?

Health Benefits Of Tea

So in case you’re wondering what we mean, these are some of the health benefits of tea we were referring to:

 - It contains lower caffeine and higher antioxidants

 - It might reduce your risk for heart diseases and stroke

 - Can protect your bones

 - Improves your immunity

Your Tea Bag Is Also Really Good For You - Here’s How

But it’s not just those benefits. There are so many more uses to tea - to be more specific, you can reuse the tea bags for so many things that they literally work wonders! Here are some tea bag uses you would have never thought of:

Dark Circles? No More!

Tea bags, especially green tea bags are great for your skin. The tannin in tea can tighten skin, thus helping reduce puffiness and swelling around your eyes. The antioxidants in the tea make this a double benefit because it also gives your skin a clean and fresh look. After using your tea bags, cool them and then place them over your under-eye areas.

DIY Face Mask

After using that tea bag, open it up and use the tea leaves to make a great exfoliating face pack. Mix it with honey and give your face a gentle scrub session. Then let it rest on your face for about 5 minutes and wash it off. The texture of tea makes it a gentle scrub, while its antioxidants and tannins rejuvenate your skin.

Tea Rinse For Healthy Hair

Soak 2-3 tea bags in some hot water overnight. Remove the tea bags from the water and use the tea to rinse your wet hair right before shampooing it. Tea is also great for shiny, clean hair. Massage it onto your scalp, and let it sit for a few minutes before washing it off and shampooing as usual. It will give your hair a good shine.

Gardening

Tea is also a great fertilizer for your garden. So rather than throwing the leftover tea dregs in the bin, cut the bags open and empty the tea into your potted plants. This is an old habit that you might have even observed your elders use. Tea dregs can create rich compost and allow your plants to grow to be healthy.

Foot Spa

Soak your feet in lukewarm water, and add some tea to it. Tea has antibacterial properties which will kill the microbes causing the bad smell to begin with. Not only will the skin on your feet be renewed when you wash them, but your feet will be germ-free and odour-free.

Greasy Utensils?

Rather than scrubbing and scrubbing away to clean that oily skillet, take a second to think smart. Soak the skillet with warm water and put some used tea bags in it. After some time, the sticky grease will be loose and it’ll be easier to scrub your skillet clean.

Kids’ Craft Project

Does your kid’s history project need sheets of paper that look old? Use tea bags and blot all over a thick sheet of paper. Allow it to dry completely, and you’ll have sheets of paper that look like they belong in an antique shop. The kind of tea and whether you make strong or mild tea will determine the color of the paper.

I’m sure that there are so many more benefits to this miracle drink that we still haven’t discovered. Do you know of any other uses of tea bags? Let us know!
