6 Things Your Mother-In-Law May Be Wanting To Tell You

You might have a lot of things you haven’t told your mother-in-law, but always wanted to. But have you ever wondered what your mother-in-law’s unspoken thoughts are?

Here are some things that she may be wanting to tell you, but never has.

1. We are a family

You’re all part of the same family, although at times you might not feel that way. She knows you miss your home and that it’s not an easy transition from your parents house to that of your in-laws. All that matters is that families stick together through thick and thin.

2. Help me get close to my grand kids

Any grandmother will tell you that she’s scared of her grand kids forgetting her. In this day and age of technology, where relationships are made in a second and broken in a second, she wants you to help her stay connected to her grandchildren. The smile on her face when her grand kids visit her or even talk with her should be enough of a hint to tell you how much she appreciates it.

3. Please take good care of my son

As apprehensive as you are about joining a new family, she is equally worried about the person her son is going to spend the rest of his life with. Regardless of what happens, in the end, all she wants is to sleep well at night knowing her son is in good hands.

4. Thank you!

Sometimes your mother-in-law just wants to tell that she’s grateful for everything you’ve done - for taking care of her son, her grandchildren and for being kind towards her. Every time you brought her a cup of tea, or cooked a meal or sat next to her holding her hand, she wanted to tell you - 'Thank you'.

5. Talk to me

When there’s something on your mind or you're struggling through some hardship, your mother-in-law wants to tell you that you can talk to her about it. You can share your worries and even things that are related to her. If you feel like something she did or said offended you, instead of building up resentment, it is always better to talk to her about it and have it resolved. It might all just be a misunderstanding, anyway.

6. He’s still my son

Your mother-in-law would’ve accepted the fact that there’s a woman in her son’s life who might be equally, if not more, important to him. Your husband might be coming to you for advice or any other help that he used to seek from her earlier and she misses it. It’s hard for her to come to terms that the child she raised for so many years suddenly has his priorities rearranged. So, she wants you to know that she understands he’s your husband, but she misses him being just a son.
