6 DIY Hair Care Treatments For Dull And Lifeless Hair

With the daily hustle-bustle of life, dull and lifeless hair becomes a common issue. But there’s no need to panic, ladies! Many solutions are available to revive your hair, but the most accepted solution these days is to prepare your own effective hair mask using easily available ingredients from your kitchen.

So, to transform your hair from dull and lifeless to beautiful and healthy, go with these easy-to-prepare hair masks that you can try at home for healthy hair, worthy of envy.

1. Egg Mask

Ingredients:

- Egg (for normal or thin hair:1; for thick and long hair:2)

- 1 cup of Milk

- 1 tbsp of Squeezed lemon

- 2 tbsps of Olive Oil

Directions to prepare and use:

- Firstly, separate the yolk from the egg white. This separation will depend upon your hair type—for dry hair, use only egg yolk, for oily hair, use the egg white and for normal hair, do not separate them at all.

- Beat the egg and add the rest of the ingredients. Mix well.

- Now, massage the mixture into your scalp, working from the roots to the scalp, and let it stay for at least 15 minutes. Cover your hair with a shower cap and wait.

- Using lukewarm or cold water, rinse the mixture off your hair thoroughly. For the final cleaning, use any organic shampoo.

2. Papaya Mask

Ingredients:

- ½ Cup of Peeled papaya

- ¼ Cup of Coconut Milk

- 1 Tbsp of Honey

Directions to prepare and use:

- Blend the ingredients for few minutes till you see a smooth paste forming in the blender.

- After shampooing your hair, apply this mask on damp hair and cover it with a shower cap.

- Wait 30 minutes and rinse thoroughly with water and shampoo again.

3. Banana Hair Mask

Ingredients:

- 1 to 2 overripe bananas

- 1 tbsp of honey

- 1 tbsp of coconut oil

- 1 tbsp of olive oil

Directions to prepare and use:

- Blend the bananas very carefully till you find no chunks or tiny pieces of banana left in the mixture.

- Now, add all the other ingredients and blend again.

- Slather this newly formed smoothie onto your hair and let your scalp soak it in for at least 5-6 minutes.

- Wash your hair and head thoroughly. Make sure to remove all the ingredients in case you didn’t blend it properly.

4. Aloe Vera and Olive Oil Mask

Ingredients:

- 4-5 tbsps of aloe vera gel (You can either extract it directly from the aloe vera strip or get a readymade one.)

- 3-4 tbsps of olive oil

- 2-3 tbsps of egg yolk.

Directions to prepare and use:

- Take a bowl and mix all the listed ingredients well. Before pouring olive oil into the bowl, heat it for at least 8-10 seconds.

- Apply this mixture on your hair with the help of a brush and leave it on for at least 4 to 5 hours. For best results, you can apply it overnight.

-  Wash it off with a mild shampoo.

5. Avocado Mask

Ingredients:

- 1 small avocado (ripe)

- 1 tbsp of olive oil

- ¼ cup of milk

Directions to prepare and use:

- First, blend the avocado so it transforms into a fine smoothie.

- Add the other listed ingredients and mix well.

- Apply this mixture on your hair, from roots to the end. Cover it with a shower cap and wait for 15 minutes.

- Rinse well with lukewarm water while using your fingers to remove all the residue of avocado.

Last but not least, remember the longer you put these hair masks on, the deeper the nutrients will reach into your scalp, nourishing it and making it healthier.
