Husbands can be so sweet, caring and selfless. They seem to be able to handle any situation and will never let you fix anything around the house on your own. Even if he doesn’t know fix it, he will try his best and figure out how to get it done. It is only natural that you love him for this but he is keeping secrets from you. It is not that he does not love you or trust you, but it is because he is insecure and feels that you may think less of him if you knew. Reading these secrets will only make you adore him even more.
1. He wants your appreciation
Your husband loves compliments just as much as you do. You may find things to complain to him about but try to give him 5 compliments for each complaint that you have. Since you would also like to receive some form of appreciation, make it a habit to set aside a few minutes every day to just appreciate each other by saying something nice or thanking them. This even includes criticizing each other’s outfits - don’t be too harsh on him. If he looks smart in that new suit, tell him. If his tie doesn’t go with his shirt, tell him. Your opinion on his looks matters to him.
2. He is not perfect, though he tries to be
Every man tries to be a superhero. He will try to provide their family with everything and will not say that he can’t do something. This puts him under pressure because the more he does, the more that is expected of him. But he may not be able to meet those high expectations all the time - he is only human after all. Acknowledge this, and help him out whenever you can. Tell him that you are glad he tried and that it is okay to have forgotten to buy green beans from the supermarket.
3. He loves you more than you think
Men are not built to express their emotions very well. Even if your husband does say “I love you” every day, it may sound a little robotic when he does. This does not mean that he does not love you. It’s his actions that really shows how much he loves you. Say you didn’t go to work one day because that your wrist and neck hurt because of your desk job. He will get back home with a spray for pain relief. The occasional box of your favourite sweets is also a sign of his affection.
4. He wants you by his side
Although men are always depicted to be the hero of the family, men really do want their wives to stand by them and work as a team. Whenever there is a crisis of some sort - say your child fell ill (or) you/your husband lost a job - you should decide what to do together rather than leaving it to him to solve all the problems. This will reduce the chances of a heated argument, deepen and strengthen your bond with your husband and make problem-solving a lot easier and fun.
5. He will ALWAYS splurge at the supermarket
Don’t expect your husband to buy exactly what is required for the house. Whenever he goes to the supermarket, he will buy unsweetened crackers, raisin bread, sponges, and a whole lot of things that nobody is going to use. He might also remember to buy the things you asked him to buy, but it is hard not to get distracted by the “cool stuff” at the store.
