5 Recipes Using Baking Soda Which Help In Weight Loss

We gain weight without us ever realizing it. Before we know it, our arms, thighs and belly is jiggling with the extra load, and we only see it when someone else points it out to us (and that, my friends, is not a nice feeling at all)!

I’m sure we’ve all tried different methods to lose that fat, and some have worked, some haven’t. Shedding those extra kilos takes more than exercise - you need to have healthy eating habits, keep a check on your diet and ensure an active lifestyle.

We’re helping you out with one of those things - we’ve found that using baking soda can actually help you shed those extra kilos! Not directly, of course, but when it is included in small amounts in your diet, baking soda can not only help you burn fat but also treat heartburn and helps cure upset tummies, because it helps neutralize excess stomach acid.

Having said all this, baking soda shouldn’t be used generously. It should be used only lightly, and only whenever necessary. You need to decide how much is appropriate for you. So start small, and keep the usage to a maximum of 5-10 grams only. Anything higher might affect the body’s pH level.

It’s best to stay away from Baking Soda if you’re suffering from kidney- or kidney-related diseases, high blood pressure or any heart-related diseases, diabetes or chronic illness, it’s best to consult your physician to get a go ahead from your doctor.

1. Apple Cider Vinegar + Baking Soda

This mixture is very good for the body. It is low on calories and will keep you full for quite some time. It is known to boost your metabolism and slow down your digestion.

How To Make It:

2 tbsp - apple cider vinegar

1 glass - water

1/2 tbsp - baking soda

Mix all the ingredients and drink it in the morning, every day. It is preferable to drink it 20-30 minutes before breakfast.

2. Sports Drink + Baking Soda

Some of the existing sports drinks might actually be doing you more harm than any good. The continued use of these drinks may even cause you to get Type 2 Diabetes. Baking soda can actually replace your sugary sports drink and improve your sports performances.

How To Make It:

5 cups - coconut water

1/4 cup - honey

1/2 cup - lemon juice

1/2 tbsp - unprocessed sea salt

1/4 tbsp - baking soda

On low flame, heat coconut water. Mix baking soda with it, and wait for it to dissolve. Add the remaining ingredients to it, and ensure that you shake it well. Your sports drink is done!

3. Green Tea + Baking Soda

Everyone already knows the health benefits of consuming green tea. It has been shown to burn fat, increase brain functioning, lower the risks of Type 2 Diabetes and improve your dental health. A combination of green tea and baking soda can boost your fat burning rate.

How To Make It:

1 glass - water

Organic green tea

1/4 tbsp - baking soda

Prepare your usual green tea (heat a glass of water, add green tea to it). Once that is done, add baking soda to it. Once the fizz has settled, it’s ready to be consumed.

4. Lemon Juice + Baking Soda

Lemon juice has been known to improve your metabolism, and so has baking soda. A combination of these two can help in weight loss.

How To Make It:

1 - lemon

1 glass - water

1/2 tbsp - baking soda

Add lemon extract to a glass of water, and later add baking soda to it. Stir it well, you have a mixture that can be your morning drink!

5. Strawberry + Baking Soda Smoothie

We’ve saved the best for the last! This is no doubt the most delicious one on the list. By adding baking soda to a strawberry smoothie, you can have both taste and health! Strawberries, as you might know, are really healthy. Having a smoothie will also keep you full for a long time.

How To Make It:

1 cup - Strawberry

2 cups - water

1-2 lemons

Fresh mint leaves

1/2 tbsp - baking soda

Put all the ingredients in a blender, and drink this mixture at least once every day. You can add ice to it if you prefer it chilled.

We must tell you that you must not use baking soda without supervision, and without consulting your doctor first. Also, do not consume baking soda if you’re suffering from any of the illnesses we’ve listed above.
