All of us have them, yet we are hesitant to talk about them. And it is because of this that there are so many myths concerning breasts. As we women tend to believe a lot of stuff that we hear through the grapevine, it’s only fitting that you know the difference between myths and facts. Here are a few:
1 Wearing a bra all the time will keep your boobs perky
This is not true, although bras provide that much-needed support for your ta-tas, wearing them all the time doesn’t mean that your boobs will be firm and perky. In fact, it is recommended that you go bra-free whenever possible to let a little bit of breeze flow through the hidden skin and also be a little less uncomfortable.
2. Breasts are symmetrical
Majority of the women don’t have identical boobs. The difference is barely noticeable but if you do notice a difference then it’s no big deal. Know that every natural breast out there doesn’t resemble its twin. So, if your left boob is bigger than the right (which is usually the case), no worries, mommies.
3. Breastfeeding will make your boobs saggy
Some women prefer not to breastfeed because they fear that their breasts will lose their pertness and become heavy and saggy. Actually, pregnancy in itself is known to bring down your gravity-defying breasts and breastfeeding makes no difference to it. It is a natural and more nutritious way of getting all the essential nutrients for your baby rather than bottle feeding.
4. Bra size doesn’t change
You might’ve noticed that that one bra that fits you to perfection doesn’t do anything for you anymore. It is because bra sizes change so it is recommended that you buy new ones after getting a fitting done every 6 months or so. Bra manufacturers estimate that women might need about 6 different sized bras in a lifetime.
5. Breasts stop growing after puberty
There are a lot of myths on when breasts start growing and when exactly they start. But the thing is that you can’t really put a period on your breast growth. Puberty or your periods aren’t the only contributing factors. Breasts can grow even when you’re in your twenties!
