For your baby, you are her whole world. The sound of your voice gives them a sense of safety, the warmth of your skin gives them comfort and most importantly, you provide your baby with the nourishment he/she needs. This is why your baby is so attached to you.

When it comes to your baby’s nutrition, nothing beats breast milk. It is naturally produced by a mother for her baby and is the best way to meet their nutritional needs. For the first year of your baby’s life, breast milk should be their main food. After 6 months, you may start feeding them solid food (under the guidance of your doctor) but breastmilk should continue to be their main source of nutrition up to 12 months.

Here is a list of things you should have for properly feeding your baby-

Nursing Wipes
6-7 Packs (72 Wipes Each)
Nursing Pads
3 Packs (24 Pads Each)
Nipple Cream
2 Tubes (50g Each)
Baby Wipes
3 Packs (72 Wipes Each)

Here are a few tips to follow in order to make feeding time easier for you:

1. Pump often, pump regularly

A breast pump is a must-have for new moms. It is a tool that allows you to express milk and store it for later. It can help improve your milk flow. It will especially come in handy when you are going to be outside for a long time. It also makes sense for working moms to express milk so that anyone who is at home looking after the baby can feed them. Order a breast pump here.

2. Look at your baby, not the clock

Instead of looking at the clock to decide when you need to feed your baby, keep an eye on your baby for signs of hunger. Babies tend to lick their lips or put their hand in their mouth when they are hungry. They will get hungry often and at different times during the day.

3. Protect your clothes

Your breasts may leak between feeding sessions and leave tough stains on your clothes. This is a normal thing and it happens to most moms. To avoid staining your favourite clothes, wear nursing pads inside your bra and change them 2-3 times a day depending on your needs/comfort. Buy them here.

4. Feeding solid foods

When you first introduce your baby to solid foods, you have to remember to be patient. Babies may not welcome the switch from breast milk right away. Offer a spoonful of baby food (mashed banana for example) every now and then until they finally give it a try. If they like it, offer a spoonful of the same food for the next two days before you offer some other food (like rice porridge). A key point to remember is that breast milk should continue to be their main source of nutrition up to 12 months at least.

5. Clean up after the feeding

After the feeding, you need to wipe your baby’s face and hands to remove any remnants of milk or baby food. Not doing so can result in infections. You should also wipe your breasts to remove the milk remnants to avoid painful breast infections or clogging of milk ducts. Click here to buy baby wipes and here to buy nursing wipes.
