5 Effective Remedies For Morning Sickness

Nausea and vomiting during pregnancy, also known as morning sickness, is a symptom that irritates women the most. Those constant bouts of vomiting and nausea every day can get you extremely frustrated and impatient towards your delivery and we totally understand why.

Now, while morning sickness happens to be common among almost all women who are expecting, it doesn’t really have a specific reason for its occurrence. Most doctors believe it is due to the regular hormonal imbalances that take place within women on a constant level. There are certain hormonal suspects such as human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG) and oestrogen (both of which are responsible for detecting if you’re pregnant due to the coincidence in their occurrences) as causes for morning sickness, but nothing has been confirmed by the doctors yet.

Other reasons behind morning sickness are believed to be intolerance to the smell of certain foods, fatigue, sleep deprivation and anxiety.

Even though it is regular and common during pregnancy, there are remedies to cure it. Some of them are given below.

1. Ginger Tea

Ginger works wonderfully in curing your nausea. It relaxes your mind and gives your vomiting bouts a good rest. In case you feel nauseous at any point, ask your hubby to make you some hot ginger tea and you will see the difference later.

2. Water

It is very important for you to keep yourself hydrated to avoid morning sickness. Water helps you feel fresh and light all the time and this is precisely why it is recommended that you drink as much as water as possible to keep away from feeling nauseous.

3. Iron-Rich Foods

Iron plays a huge role in keeping you fit and fine during your pregnancy. And while it is extremely important for you to consume iron for the sake of your baby’s proper brain development, one of the effects it has is a reduction in bouts of nausea and vomiting.

Hence foods such as green leafy vegetables, pomegranates and other iron supplements must become your best friends right now. Trust us, you’ll feel a lot better later.

4. Vitamin B-6 Tablets

Vitamin B-6 has proven to be helpful in reducing nausea and vomiting. Consume 25 mg (and not more) of it every 8 hours and it will give you all the relief you need.

5. Include Mild Exercising In Your Routine

Do a little bit of yoga early in the morning, or make sure you go for an hour’s morning and evening walk every day to keep nausea at bay. It has been proven time and again that mild exercising keeps your hormones in control and hence, avoids nausea or bouts of vomiting.
