5 DIY Face Masks For Pregnant Women


No one really knows what to expect when you’re expecting, especially when it comes to your body and its behaviours. Regular skin care products may suddenly cause reactions that you never anticipated, as the skin goes through changes during pregnancy.

Here, we've listed 5 easy and natural masks that you can make at home to keep your skin glowing and feeling fresh.

1. Fresh Banana Fruit Mask For Oily Skin

What you will need:

- 1 ripe banana

- 1 tbsp honey

- 1 tbsp lemon juice

Mash a ripe banana, add a tablespoon of honey and lemon juice to it and mix it well. Then, apply the mixture on your face and neck and allow it to dry. After it has dried, wash your face with warm water and you’re good to go.

You can also add orange or any kind of citrus fruit extracts to this mixture since they are rich in acids that cut down oil from sebaceous glands.

2. Nourishing Creamy Avocado Face Mask

What you will need:

- 1 ripe avocado

- 1 tsp yogurt

- Lemon juice

Avocado is extremely rich in potassium, so this face mask is sure to help nourish your skin and help maintain its glow and health. Mash the avocado and mix it well with a teaspoon of yogurt and few drops of lemon juice. Apply the mixture all over your face and leave it on for 20 minutes before rinsing it off with cold water. If made in larger quantities, you can store the excess mixture in an airtight jar.

3. Cleansing Cucumber and Watermelon Fruit Face Mask

What you will need:

- 2 tbsp cucumber juice

- 2 tbsp watermelon juice

-1 tsp yogurt

-1 tsp milk powder

Mix the ingredients together and apply the mixture on your face. Leave the mask on for about fifteen minutes before rinsing off with cold water. The watermelon helps clearing your skin, as it removes blemishes. Also, it acts as a toner. Cucumber juice is well known for its skin lightening effect and helps to lessen redness and puffiness. Yogurt softens and tightens the skin, and milk powder acts as a binding agent. Altogether, you have the perfect recipe for glowing, radiant skin!

4. Yogurt and Lemon Face Mask

What you will need:

- Half a cup of (plain or sour) yogurt

- Lemon or orange juice

Take half a cup of yogurt and add 2 drops of lemon juice or orange juice to it. Apply this on your face for about 15 minutes. Wash it off with lukewarm water and then splash some cold water immediately to tighten the pores. Gently massaging the yogurt into your skin will help remove dead skin cells, smoothing out fine lines, tightening your pores and hydrating dry patches. It also gives your skin a nice glow. Don’t forget to make sure the yogurt is plain and unsweetened.

5. Orange peel-milk pack

What you will need:

- 1 dried orange peel

- Milk

- Rose water

The next time you eat an orange, keep the peel and leave it out in the sun to dry. When thoroughly dried, grind the peel into a powder. Mix a spoon of orange peel powder with enough milk to make a thick paste. Apply this mixture on your face and wait for it to dry. Rinse it off with rosewater. This mask gives your skin a brightening boost without drying it out.
