5 Delicious Puree Recipes Your Baby Will Love

A baby usually begins to show an interest in food other than milk when he reaches the age of 4-6 months. He may appear unsatisfied even after having his daily dose, and might even try grabbing food from your plate.

Here we are with 5 easy-to-prepare puree recipes you can make in minutes!

1. RASPBERRY BANANA PUREE

Raspberries and banana blend together very well and no wonder can provide you with one of the greatest recipes—both for the older children and your baby.

The smooth and naturally sweet texture of this puree will leave your baby impressed, however, this treat could make a mess when your baby gets his hands on it because of its bright red or pink colour, of course.

Age recommended: 6-9 months

Ingredients:

1 Banana

½ cup raspberries (washed)

Preparation:

Put both the ingredients in the blender together, and let it process until the mixture reaches the desired texture.

 

2. APPLE PUREE

Apples are considered to be the finest of all other fruits because these can easily mix in with any baby cereal. For making a puree, you should choose apples with a sweet and mild flavour, such as Red Delicious and Gala apples—as these are more organic than other tart varieties such as Granny Smith.

Age recommended: 4-6 months

Ingredients:

½ cup of water

3 medium-sized apples (peeled and chopped into small cubes)

Preparation:

Combine all the ingredients in a pan and let them simmer for about 12 minutes or until you find the apples become tender than earlier. Now, transfer the content directly into the blender, and then blend it until it reaches the required consistency. You can also add water if you find it necessary.

 

3. BANANA PUREE

Bananas are potassium-rich fruits, which are also considered among the ideal fruits for baby’s growth and good health. Banana puree can also help in soothing the upset stomach and fight against diarrhoea very well.

Age recommended: 4-6 months

Ingredients:

½ ripe banana. (peeled and uncooked)

1 tablespoon of water/ formula/ breast milk

Preparation:

Put a banana in a food blender and blend it or mash it in a bowl with the help of a regular fork. Add the desired amount of water or cereal in order to thin or thicken it respectively.

 

4. PEAR PUREE

Pear is a hard-to-resist fruit for a number of babies because of its sweet taste and fibre-rich texture, and hence, can be transformed into a very yummy looking as well as a tasty puree of its own.

Age recommended: 4-6 months

Ingredients:

1 ripe pear (peeled and chopped into small cubes)

1 tablespoon of water/ formula/ breast milk

Preparation:

Place the chunks of pear in a food processor or blender, and process/blend it till it achieves the smoothness. Add water as required to reach the desired texture.

 

5. SWEET POTATO PUREE

Sweet potatoes are said to be rich in beta-carotene, and hence can be a nutritious addition to your baby’s diet.

Age recommended: After 6 months

Ingredients:

1 or 2 sweet potatoes (peeled and chopped into small cubes)

1 tablespoon of water/ formula/ breast milk

Preparation:

Steam the chopped sweet potato for 20-30 minutes and then add these to the food processor/blender. Process or blend it till it reaches the desired consistency. You can also add water or breast milk for adding more texture to it.
