5 Home Remedies To Get Rid Of Swollen Feet During Pregnancy

Pregnancy times call for some really common problems in women, one of them being swollen feet (edema), which is experienced by almost half of the pregnant women. This occurs especially when many women are towards the end of their third trimester or 35th week of their pregnancy. When in some cases, swelling of feet is not that serious of a problem, but in some cases, it’s better to notify your doctor.Although it’s not possible to get rid of swelling of body parts in one go, you can always try out some of the home remedies to make your feet a lot better than their current swollen state. Following are 5 such home remedies which can help you in some way

1. Let your feet take a feet in dip salty lukewarm water

This is one of the easiest remedies which can be performed without causing any trouble to your swollen feet. Simply letting your feet soak in salty lukewarm water for 10 to 15 minutes can do a wonderful job to your feet/legs. When the warm water will help in maintaining as well as increasing the blood circulation in your feet, the added salt, on the other hand, will prevent your feet from any inflammation. These together, help in relaxing the muscles. You can do this before going to bed, and see the result in the morning

2. To make use of cabbage leaves

It’s normal to have a cabbage in your vegetable basket at home. You can make it more useful by using it as a cure for your swollen feet. Cabbage leaves are considered excellent for soaking/absorbing excessive fluid from our body. Hence, place some of the fresh cabbage leaves on the affected area, and cover it with a cotton cloth—this will help in reducing the swelling and tenderness of your feet. However, do not leave the leaves for a long time in the same area after they get wet, it’s better to change them. Repeat this method twice a day to see the better results.

3. How to use cool cucumber.

Placing some slices of cool cucumber on the affected area for at least 15 minutes, will not only decrease the swelling of your feet but also will help in relaxing your muscles. Since cucumber is a useful and effective vegetable along with its ability to absorb extra fluid from our body it can also be included in your diet.

4. Wonders, only cariandor seeds can do!

Using coriander seeds in treating swollen feet or edema can be considered as the most effective method. Soak a handful of coriander seeds in a glass of water for few hours, and then boil it till half of the water is left. Drain all the mixture, cool it and drink it once in a day. The results will be satisfying.

5.Stay hydrated

Drinking water in sufficient amount itself can cure the problem of swollen feet very easily as this water when enters the body, helps in preventing the body to retain more water. To maximize the effect of water, you can add a dash of lime into it which will help you in reducing the swelling more easily and rapidly.
