10 Things You MUST Do Before You Give Birth!

9 months may seem like a long time but while you try and keep up with your nutrition, exercise and doctor appointments, pregnancy can be over just like that and before you know it, you’re in the hospital eagerly waiting for your little one’s birth. So before you miss out on those magical months, here are a few things you must do.

1. Have breakfast in bed

Pregnancy gives you a pass for a lot of things and one of the best ones being offered breakfast in bed. Let your husband whip up your favourite breakfast and have it in bed as soon as you wake up. Just try shutting your brain off when it’s screaming you haven’t brushed your teeth yet and you’ll be good to go.

2. Hang out with the squad

Make sure to hang out with your girlfriends by doing whatever it is you like - watching movies, having a sleepover or just knitting. This not only takes off a lot of pressure of your pregnancy but also gives you that much fun-time you deserve.

3. Write a letter to your unborn baby

Not a lot of mothers do this, but the best way to capture what you’re feeling during a pregnancy is to jot them down in the form of a letter. Your child can read this when s/he grows up and it’ll bring back so many unexpressed emotions.

4. Throw a baby shower

A baby shower is a great way of appreciating your baby bump and the baby that grows in it. This is definitely a thing you can do only while you are pregnant because of obvious reasons. Make it even more fun by throwing a themed-one.

5. Buy maternity lingerie

Yes, such a thing exists and they are attractive as hell. Entice your husband with maternity lingerie and you might just get whatever you ask for. ;)

6. Make a maternity flipbook

A maternity flipbook can be anything and everything you want it to be. You can paste a copy of every ultrasound’s photo to the book and write pointers down on what the doctors had to say. You can even have an amazing maternity photo shoot and make it a journal entry.

7. Paint your baby bump

Baby bump paintings are extremely beautiful and unique. Just make sure to use paint that is skin-safe and don’t keep it on your skin for more than a few hours.

8. Go on a vacation

You can go on a solo or a family vacation to a place that you’ve always wanted to go because once your baby is born, it’s safe to say that you won’t be vacationing for a few months to come.

9. Read to your baby bump

Your baby starts to learn even when s/he is in the womb so this means anything you talk to your baby, it’s listening. So read some of your favourite stories and poems to your unborn baby. Maybe you’ll even feel your baby move when you read their favourite story.

10. Make a birth plan

Although the last, this is one of the most important things you should do before you deliver. Talk with your gynaecologist and discuss how you’d like to give birth. Maybe you want to try out water birth or try your hardest to have a natural birth. Whatever it is, write down the plan and also the things you need to carry with you to the hospital when you go into labour.
