My infant has a white coat on the tongue. What can be the problem?
White plaques could just be milk sticking to the tongue or could be a fungal infection called thrush. The plaques of thrush can not be scraped or rubbed away unlike milk. They are also thicker and you can find them not just on the tongue but inside of the cheeks and roof of mouth. Thrush needs to be treated. Talk to your doctor
