Is it safe to put a few drops of oil in my newborn’s ears and navel?
A Big No, never put oil in the ears , nose or in the navel of a baby. or orally also Many parents think that putting a few drops of oil in the ear helps soften the wax in the ears, making the ears easier to clean. But there is always a risk of infection from oils. even avoid using ear bud or a cotton swab. This may lead to other complications such as soreness, pain, itchiness and sometimes, even loss of hearing. In fact, ear wax acts as a natural protective shield against germs, water or moisture. It does not affect your baby's hearing in any manner. If you are concerned about the amount of dirt in your baby's ears, ask your paediatrician for ear drops. Oiling the baby,s navel is also not advisable.navel must be kept dry & clean.
