I am feeding cows milk to my baby. I have heard a lot about iron deficiency due to milk. How can I prevent it? What supplements I can give my baby?
Yes. Cow milk is poor source of iron. To prevent iron deficiency, add red meat, beans, fish, eggs and cereals that say they are fortified with iron. You can increase the iron your toddler absorbs by giving her lots of Vitamin C as well. Foods high in Vitamin C include: oranges and other citrus fruit, tomatoes and berries.
