How can I deal with temper tantrums of my preschooler?
It's best to ignore the tantrum. yes it is difficult to do so when you are in public. try and divert the child's attention with what he/she likes. The reason why tantrums need to be avoided are because the more you give into them the child gets an understanding that the minute I throw a tantrum my demands are met. which can be bad later on. Happy parenting :)
try & reason out with the child but make sure the lecture dusnt get too long...reasoning should be positive like ' how we do it' & not 'its bad or not good'...refrain from using words like 'no' or 'dont'...even if u think they dont understand its better to tell them the right thing to do...never get aggresive in handling a tantrum & u need to b calm outside...later u can have a quite chat like " why were u upset?..was something bothering u"...on those lines...also divert them to something of their interest...if it doesnt work, just wait for the storm to pass away!...at times thats the only thing u can do!
